A downloadable game for Windows and macOS

All in your head is a single-player first-person horror game. You take on the role of a left-behind young man who has to survive in a cabin that was meant to be a destination party with his co-workers & friends. The cabin is located in a beautiful & secluded hill of the country-side. But seclusion can also mean lack of access to resources & unchartered territories.

In this first-person horror adventure, you walk through the cabin and surrounding areas, trying to uncover the mystery of what went wrong and why you are alone in the cabin now. However, you need to be careful. As uncovering the mystery also uncovers the horrors lying underneath the surface.

Explore the cabin, investigate the items around and deduce the reason for the unfortunate event that has taken place. Meanwhile, you might need to finish what you and your friends came here to do, all alone. Try to stay in the light but if need be, use your phone as your flashlight.

Use your phone as your flashlight, explore the area and uncover the mystery of what happened.. But make sure you have the tools to survive the night!

Hey there. Congratulations on the release of your demo!

Feedback:

  • First of all, there’s no journal. I quickly forgot the password Adam gave me, so I had to restart. You should either add the password within the quest log label or make a journal to store these things. Some people just forget fast, so some quality of life would be nice.
  • The FPSController just feels jittery, but I can’t exactly pinpoint what’s wrong.
  • The questlog doesn’t always show the exact ongoing quest. It sometimes displays the previous one even though the quest is done
  • No option to change the mouse sensitivity. The default setting is very high.
  • The laptop with all the password fields was buggy. It has two UI panels stacked on top of eachother. You should make a smooth transition into the UI.
  • The player doesn’t have voice acting even though the cinematic/dialogue has voice acting.
  • The HUD shouldn’t be shown whenever there’s a cinematic/dialogue ongoing.
  • Picking up the landline phone makes the player stuck in a weird way.
  • Some object sizes like the house doors and furniture seem huge compared to the player’s view height.
  • Hitting the TAB key opens up the game options. TAB is usually used for toggling an inventory.
  • Interaction with doors feels weird and sometimes don’t respond. You should consider using raycasts.
  • The key box outside was empty. What’s the purpose then?
  • The phone in the player’s hand sometimes flickers / glitches.
  • I never found the power source. I tried to look for it outside, but ran into invisible colliders everywhere.
  • Be careful that the whole game isn’t going to be all about passing in missing passwords here and there. That isn't very challenging and it quickly becomes a bore too. Instead, add more variety for the player to do.

These were the main things that I could think of. I hope you find it useful. Happy developing!

Cheers

Thank you so much for taking out the time to write such detailed feedback! I'm fixing a lot of the things you're pointing out. Some of them I cannot yet reproduce because they don't happen on some machines.

I would love to watch your recording! Please do share with me. Thanks again Aces Games!

I appreciate that you liked my feedback and I'm glad to hear you found some of it useful too.

I've added the video in my original comment. I’ve edited the video a little bit, since I played in two sessions, mainly because I forgot the password in the first session. Hopefully it can give you an idea what I'm talking about.

Wish you good luck with your game!

For being a demo, this was not bad. I notice the character's view would sometimes glitch and cause the phone to disappear or just glitch across the screen, and another with lighting in certain areas. But apart from that, not bad. Made a video on it.

All bugs shown in the video.

Hello, I will be playing this live tomorrow 10/8 around 2-3 PM EST =D

Roger that!

Hello, I did not see any game breaking bugs while in game. Nice work on the demo!

I'm not sure if this may be something to do with my system, but the cell phone would dissapear, then reappear very quickly. Like a clipping of sorts. It occured while sprinting or walking in the area past the fence. Not all that important in my eyes, but just wanted to let you know. It wouldn't impact my rating of the demo.

I loved the use of singing in the end, its very creepy and scary. It was a great choice to disable the use of flashlight so you couldn't see "her" head. or whatever it is that has been stalking us in this area.

I didn't find any clues as to what it or she is.. but I hope you get to flesh that out for us as an objective in the full game!

It was really great, and I am going to follow you so I can play it as soon as it comes out! Do we have an ETA of any sort? Otherwise I will just make sure to keep an eye out. I know this takes time!

I did make a video, and I have linked your game in the description so people can play your demo. :)

I just finished watching this, you're the first one to play it exactly how I intended it. Kudos!

Thanks for the feedback, flashlight is a pain. Some people found it too bright, so i dimmed it and now its a little dark. Also the glitching, yes im aware.

I dont have a timeline right now for the full release unfortunately, but if you follow on twitter or steam I'll be giving updates regularly.

Thank you for your support <3

Having a problem where the game is just a black screen. :\ Tried restarting the game several times, it did nothing.

Same. Tried the Itch and Steam versions. Tried all different quality settings and resolutions to see if one was just bugged. Only a black screen. Tab to bring up the options menu works, but the actual menu itself is bugged after it pops up.

Hey! I found this one too!

Sorry about that, im on it. Thanks for letting me know!

No worries! looking forward to be making a video on it :) Sounds like a very interesting game.

That would be awesome. I've already uploaded a new build here and on steam. Let me know if it works whenever you can! :)

I thoroughly enjoyed the game! Though I got stuck at the ending, I'm eager to see this game continued. Subscribing to my YouTube channel would be awesome—I'd love to play any future games you create!
